Arq. Javier Sánchez

Javier Sánchez is a Mexican architect who began his professional career in architectural creation as a real estate developer. His career, based on dribbling between the development of urban housing-departments, homes, luxury residences, houses-and cultural spaces-museums, libraries, art forums, galleries-and iconic spaces of the city -restoranes, cafés, etcetera. From the original trench of the plastic and the philosophy of functionalism, its creation has worked to promote urban change in one of the cities that most need daring architects and the vanguard of what the citizen requires: Mexico City.

Double action: architecture and promoter. In no work there is something about it. JSa Promotora, the division responsible for urban housing projects that are an inherent part of the architectural virtues of Javier, thinks about future clients, their needs and translates them into a real estate representation that is rich in style, functionality and aesthetics. This business module articulates the qualities of housing or buildings in favor of the quality of life, but not as part of a commercial discourse: as the very essence of design and the interactions of the creators involved. They express how the activist mission of architecture is to contribute to building new types of relationships between people. The final will consists of the introduction of one more link in the city facet of the city.

At JSa they worry about the following:

  • Program
  • Budget
  • Functionality
  • Future activities
  • Context (orientation, shape of the plot, pre-existing in terms of urban fabric, heritage and vegetation)

The built space is located more precisely in the rehabilitation of the central area of Mexico City during the last two decades, from the concrete -as its needs for functional urban housing-, to the abstract -the impulse of its creative offer and cultural- through a proposal that today is in the eyes of the world. “What it is about is to find the potential of an existing structure, be it historical or not, and highlight what you already have, respectfully. It has to do with a less protagónica work of the contemporary architecture “, indicates Javier Sanchez on the subject of his works of restoration and reconstruction of historical patrimony.

Building a city together with the lifestyle of the individuals who inhabit it, acting and innovating, with the urban pieces in a meticulous way, is an essential part of the daily work that this division of JSa has self-imposed. The architecture of JSa allows models to be generated to improve, densify and remodel. They are relations of execution in the central spaces, in an intimate interaction with the urban construction. JSa Promotora, therefore, pursues the needs of a functional home in the city, precisely in the central area of Mexico City, with the joint work between the architect and the real estate developer, new proposals have been generated that unite creativity with culture. In this way, the main paths that JSa Promotora follows are expressed through key interests to establish a thread of Ariadna in the labyrinth of the metropolis:

  • Urban fabrics
  • Historical heritage
  • Neighborhood life

Build the city beyond the project

“Reacting to the current trend in Mexico City, Javier Sánchez has made several apartment buildings in this central area of the city, reinforcing the urban quality to contextualize both materially and socially, in a contemporary stitching of the art layout. deco and colonial “.
